Electrophysiology

This training is aimed to build more experience in understanding the diagnosis and ablation of conventional and complex tachycardias. The focus will be the ablation of SVT, Afib and VT under the advice and supervision of the responsible expert. Besides the ablation techniques, the participant will get advanced training in catheter handling in state of the art lab equipment.

Training Topics (to be adjusted to individual needs)

  • Ablation of Supraventricular Tachycardias (SVT) e.g. AVNRT, WPW, AVRT, EAT
  • Ablation of typical / atypical Atrial Flutter (Aflut)
  • Ablation of Atrial Fibrillation (Afib), e.g. PV-Isolation with RF energy, Cryoablation
  • Ablation of Ventricular Tachycardias (VT) in structural heart disease (epicardial / endocardial)
  • Practical handling of diagnostic and ablation catheters
  • Transseptal access for left sided ablation
  • Selection of systems, materials and mapping strategies
  • Tips and Tricks in the EP lab
  • Analysis of IGM and 3-D mapping signals
  • Practical use of common and up-to-date EP technologies:– Carto, NavX, Cryo, ICE, GE-EP system, invasive MRI, Rotational Angiography
